You can catch the city bus just outside the front security gate. There is a bus stop across the street and they come by every 15 minutes. You want to catch Bus #20. Look for the sticker on their front windshield. This bus will take you directly to the bus station in St Johns, right outside the fish market. It takes approximately 20 minutes to get there and the price is $3.00 EC each way.
We have beach chairs in the garage but you can also rent lounge chairs and an umbrella at south beach. They typically charge $5.00 USD per chair plu $5.00 USD for an umbrella. If you get lunch at the "Pop Up Beach Bar" they will provide you with free beach chairs for the day.
You can spend USD dollars anywhere in Antigua but they will only give you ECD as change. We prefer to use ECD because we're not converting from CAD to USD to ECD.
Yes, the Epicurean grocery store will accept major credit cards but you need to bring your drivers license with you. You can also use your credit card at the ATM in the grocery store. The conversion is around $0.48-$0.52.....so $500 will get you $1000 ECD. We basically double it. USD converts at 2.6 or 2.7 so $100 USD will get your $260-270 ECD. If you want to use debit cards, they will only work at the ATMs in Jolly Harbour, and they're hit and miss.
